A Week observation on Accident in Urban Families

Abstract
|
|
|
A week observation to find out the general feature of accident happening in urban families was carried out to 609 families, 3,820 persons, I in Kwangju city during April 1973. The followings were results obtained:
1. Accident was happened 20.8% in male, 25.4% in female and 23.1% in both sexes per week 35.4% of the total accident was happened in-group age under 15 and in group age over 45, accident rate was increased again after gradual drop between age 15 to 45.
2. The three leading types of accident were "drop and slip"(33.2%) "hit by objects"(24.2%) "contact with hot objects or substances"(10 6%), 35.3% of the total accidents were happened during 15-17 o´clock and for female accident was mainly happened in-side home whereas out-side home for male.
3. 8.3% of the total accidents was treated by doctors, and 67.6% of the total was recovered completely. 31.9% of the total injuries was lacerated wound, and 67.9% of the injuries was happened on extremities.
